Took the time to watch this movie at home, watching at home can be a pain sometimes if the movie isn't that interesting but i did managed to finish it :)

A Brief Synopsis

Two disputing gang leaders are competing for the new chairman’s position of Hong Kong’s Triad Society and they are going to do whatever they can to secure the sit. Who shall prevail?

Review..

A generally well-scripted movie and the dialogues that makes it even more interesting. Well just like any other Hong Kong’s triad film, a lot of vulgarities and violence is a must but you probably won’t find too many disturbing scenes (perfect if you are not fan of brutality ) in this movie  which makes it practically viewable by families without children under the age of 12.. i think. In fact, a too civilized “triad” movie wouldn’t be too enjoyable, don’t they?

What makes this movie engaging is that the amount of reputable actors that are in it, we have Simon Yam, Leung Ka Fai, Louis Koo, Nick Cheung and the list goes on…. Most of them are my favorite actors. I never liked Leung Ka Fai’s acting but no doubt he did manage to put up a decent performance here.  In some cases, movies that includes too many favored actors usually focuses too much on the actors thus neglecting the plot which spoils the entire production.

However, “Election” is well-plotted and distributes the actors’ appearances evenly. The climax keep on coming and surprises me is the ending.. it’s not a twisted ending but still it’s a clever approach by the producer.

Overall, it’s an interesting movie and its recommended to those who enjoyed Hong Kong movies..

My Rating 7/10
